When analyzed on a yearly basis, the IT job market contracted by 1.98% since September 2022, translating to a loss of 107,600 positions. The Engineering sector reported a year-over-year job growth rate of 2.43% with the addition of 65,800 jobs during the year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor the fifth consecutive month, IT employment was again essentially flat,&#8221; stated Mark Roberts, CEO of TechServe Alliance. \u201cIt is a weird market.\u00a0 Many companies remain cautious given the ongoing uncertainty around the trajectory of the broader economy.\u00a0 This has caused some employers to pause or extend the timeline of their hiring decisions. Nevertheless, the talent supply in many high-demand IT skill sets remains very tight.
